Checklist
Warehouse portal validation checklist
Site information to collect before reader, antenna and portal layout review.
Summary
Use this checklist before reviewing a warehouse RFID portal, dock door, conveyor gate or passage read point. The goal is to confirm whether the read zone can be validated with real goods and realistic movement.
Inputs to collect
| Input | Details to prepare |
|---|---|
| Managed objects | Cartons, pallets, totes, cages, garments, tools or returnable containers |
| Tag plan | Tag type, mounting position, label size, memory requirement and sample photos |
| Portal structure | Width, height, metal frame, nearby doors, shelves and available mounting points |
| Movement | Direction, speed, stopping behavior, item density and operator handling |
| System interface | WMS / ERP / MES / API endpoint, event fields and duplicate filtering rule |
| Success criteria | Target read rate, no-read handling, cross-read tolerance and test quantity |
Validation method
Run tests with the real movement path and expected item density. Record missed reads, false reads, antenna number and RSSI. If the portal is near other read zones, test neighboring zones at the same time.
Next step
Send photos, dimensions, object samples and interface notes before requesting a portal proposal or validation kit.
